Battle of Senyclarus - 650 B.C.
With the Second Messenian War, Messenia revolted against the Spartans. Allied to the Arcadians and Argos, Messenia won the Battle of Senyclarus.
The Messenians resistance continued and they held their own at Derai and won a major victory over the Spartans and their allies from Corinth and Lepreos at a place called Boar's Grave in Stenyclarus. Subsequently, Aristomenes attacked and sacked the Laconian city of Pharis (Pharae).
